The company I work for just earned a high honor, they are listed on the 2010 Inc 5000 list. While learning what this list means and represents I came across an article written about the Top 10 Women Entrepreneur. I found a quote to extra powerful written by one of the women selected. Interprete the quote as you like, however, it holds so much truth. This quote holds so much truth and value in terms of mylife and is helping me re-evaluate my life direction in terms of career and other decisions I make.

Art of Negotiation
There are so many books, seminars and ways to learn about sales and negotiation. I am a queen at reading up and learning about the new and best techniques. Although the resources I read and learn from holds truth and are most of the times helpful, the true art of negotiation and sales is simple....
REMOVE ANY AND ALL EMOTION AND BE WILLING TO WALK AWAY.
This statement goes for the seller and the buyer. If either party is not willing to lose the deal than you are the sucker, the one who is being sold.
It's amazing how long it has taken me to really embrace this concept. Honestly, I am still fighting it today. You hear this concept and think you live by it, however, it's amazing how often you really don't follow it. I am noticing more and more when I think I am being tough, I have done my research, I know what I can and can't achieve and somehow the deal is still pending because at the end of it my emotions are involved and I don't want to walk away. I am realizing this in my sales position, in planning my wedding, in purchasing negotiable items, etc.
Think about my statement next time you are in a position and are trying to work a deal...it just might get you what you want.

Thought of the Day...
I was busy reading all about my new adventure...Independent Stylist for Stella & Dot....and while reading about the founder, Jessica Herrin, I was truly inspired. She shared her Personal Motto with the world and I could not agree with her more:
"Be daring, be different, be impractical; be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary." –Cecil Beaton
Although there are the everyday tasks that are unavoidable, it's how you accomplish those task's. Who say's we have to follow the normal steps of life. Take a leap of faith. Do something scary. You never know what the results may be. Failure is a possibility, however, what you learn leading to failure is a huge reward. By taking the risk you are now able to answer the question "What if..." and you never know where those step's of risk will take you.
I challenge anyone who reads this post to follow through with your inside voice "What if I could be..." or "What if I tried..." you never know what the result may be. Spread your wings and persue the passion inside.

The Begining....
I love to read, explore, listen and I love sharing all that I soak up with friends, friends of friends and future friends. I would like to share with you a compilation of what I have soaked up and continue to soak up with Cara's Tid Bit's....

My dear friend Amanda's husband Jonathon is why I decided to begin a blog, but the idea of writing triggered when I started reading Jeffrey Gitomer's Little Black Book of Networking & Little Red Book of Sales. Jeffrey Gitomer is a writer / public speaker / sales/ entrepreneur. He writes books primarily related to sales and customer service, I promise the core of his writing begins with common sense advise that we all seem to forget and could all benefit from. Going back to why I started this blog, Jeffrey Gitomer believes writing is a must as we climb the ladder of success. It doesn't matter what form of writing, just write. We are all doing what we can to be successful and every person has a different definition of success. I do my best to invest in my future and success.
